For months now those of who have been speculating as to what could have possibly happened on the night of May 3rd, have been said to be on a witch hunt and not sensitive enough to how horrible it must be to have your child kidnapped while you made a "mistake""
Isn't it the same thing speculating that she was indeed kidnapped? So I realized this while reading some questions and McCann supporters always say she was kidnapped, blame the sicko that took her. Well isnt that the same thing as speculating that something else could have occured? How is it different? The fact of the matter is. Nobody except those involved know what happened that night so basically everyone has been speculating so we must all be on a witch hunt. Some are accusing someone of being a sicko kidnapper yet in other posts saying innocent until proven guilty. Seems like an oxymoron to me. Accusing someone of doing something and that someone may not even exist.

Agreed Jack...why have people not been insulting towards those who are speculating she was kidnapped. I didnt see anyone defending Murat also when a witch hunt was set out against him. Its ok to say the McCanns are innocent until proven guilty but those saying that were not saying the same thing against Murat. They were ready to hang him out to dry because one of the McCann friends accused him. Why are they so believable for some people.

Lindsey you are right...but Madeleine is just missing. Susan Smiths children were supposedly kidnapped and after days of listening to the mom fake cry and plea for her childrens safe return she finally gave it up and told everyone what she did to her children. Nobody knows if Madeleine was kidnapped, killed by her parents, killed by a stranger, killed by a friend of the family, taken and stashed somewhere as a scam or infact kidnapped by some sicko. So basically anything anyone says happened to her that night is just speculation.

and how does anyone know she was crying for her dad...maybe she was crying for her dad to stop doing what he was doing. Of course again just speculation either way. Thats my point in this question. NO matter what it is all speculation so people need to stop saying people are on a witch hunt by taking what evidence is shown thus far to the public and making a speculation because I am sorry to say...there is more evidence of foul pay against those in the McCann party then there is a kidnapping due to all the inconsitencies in the story. Again all speculation not accusing anyone of anything just saying taking what you see and hear and taking a guess. Thats how investigators solve crimes by speculating.

Rosie I do agree. Both sides of this debate has shown some immaturity and accusations.

Well, isn't it funny how the antis "speculation" always seems to take the form of suggesting how the parents or their friends might have been responsible for Madeleine's disappearance or otherwise how the McCanns are the worst parents ever to walk the earth?
I have to say that "They are guilty of child neglect", "They should be charged with child neglect", "they have told lies from the start", "they obviously had children as a lifestyle accessory", "they are doing it for the money", "they dump the twins in the creche all day every day", "they wear dorky matching shoes", "they only care about their fame and high profile", "they are rich snobs" etc, etc, etc, don't sound like speculation to me.
Of course, all is speculation but it's always been my impression that the non-antis are, for the most part, maintaining an OPEN mind on the issue of what happened rather than indulging in finger pointing.
Any suggestion that there is actually NOT ENOUGH credible information in the public domain to make a judgement is greeted with derision and disbelief.
Whatever happened to Madeleine, whether it was murder or kidnap or both, someone is responsible for her continued absence. Assuming that her parents are not responsible (as suggested by the police statement) then there is a person or persons whose crime is being largely ignored by the McCann bashers.
I don't recall anyone doing anything that would be inconsistent with regarding Robert Murat as a suspect who has been neither charged nor convicted with anything.

This case has been a high profile one which has remained a major news event even though over three months have passed since Madeleline disappeared.
The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are controversial and have given rise to a great deal of speculation. I personally don't see anything wrong about this because it is bound to happen when a case arouses such interest.
Of course people are going to chew the facts over, given that the Press reports are so contradictory. However, speculation, even if a bit excessive, is not the same as downright accusations. Despite this there are some McCann supporters who see those who question as the devil's spawn. However, some comments by the 'antis' really have breached the bounds of
normal good taste and decency.
I don't whether my opinion is the right one but that is the way that I see it.

If Madeleine wasn't abducted, then her parents must have had something to do with her disapperance. There is no evidence to that.
The child is missing ergo she must have been abducted. I think the kidnapping theory was done away with in the first week or so because there was no ransom note. Likewise, if she had wandered away, her body would surely have been found by now.
As for those who say "innocent until proven guilty" (like me) that is my standard response to those who blame the parents. If they are guilty, they will be found so in a court of law.
How is this speculation?
If the parents did it, they will face the authorities. Otherwise: someone took her.

As to the suspicions, no i'm on no account stunned. i understand what I even have theory and believed to have happened from day one and that i don't evaluate any abduction!. What info they have or what they are in a position to tutor will optimistically be adequate to permit justice to be served. yet this occasion is unheard of so what proportion extra twists and turns will there be? and with the means and money the McVile 2 have at the back of them, will the fact correct to the lie ever emerge??

I understand what you mean. Nobody knows what actually happened as it is imposibble to know at the moment. Therefore it is speculation , when people say she was kidnapped.
