Not so much a proverb as a quotation by Henry David Thoreau which goes like this: " There is more in the Earth than the minds of men can conceive ". Need deep thinking for that one. I like quotes that make sense, proverbs are sentences that are or may be true in one sense, but untrue in another. How about the quote by Will Rogers during the Teddy Roosevelt primary in 1924. When asked what he thought of all the hoopla he replied "Suppose you were a politician; and suppose you were an idiot; ah, but I repeat myself ".
