Nope!
Running too many startup processes and opening too many programs use RAM.

Yes it does because the programes that you put on their shares the memory with windows. The first person who answered your question doesn't know anything about computers or memory but it's obvious if your main harddrive shares memory for the programes on it your second one does as well. It all depends what programes you put on their to the memory it uses.

The only time a hard drive would use any memory is when it requires a driver to access it. Software uses memory, not hardware. The memory that driver would use depends on the driver itself.

Adding another Hard Drive DOES cause the system to start and shutdown slow. Your system will start a lil slower but the difference is negligible. So, dont worry, go ahead and add more Hard Drive :)

Adding another drive letter to your system uses a small amount of memory, but not really enough to affect performance.

Hi,
That completely depends how you have set up memory paging, there is an option in the properties of My Computer. This enables you to use discspace as memory usage. Normally it doesn't unless you have messed with it.
Hope this helps,
Piet

If it is a replacement then no, none, if it is an external addition,
then some memory will be used but it will be insignificant!
