The dollar is weak and growing weaker as the FED showers the world with money! Big business with the support of our government has exported our good jobs, factories and industries to countries that pay a fraction of the wages paid in the USA. These same American traitors have permitted a huge illegal immigration which has further eroded our wage base in the USA. The FED in unison with big business created the housing and mortgage mess we are engaged in! Hell, Americans are not even good consumers anymore choosing to accept a negative savings rate and a declining standard of living as our future legacy. Not much left except to cut each others grass, and dine on a Big Mac while shopping for foreign goods at Walmart.

Our military machine is still a powerhouse capable of killing an unseen enemy 24/7 with the the flick of a finger. Unfortunately, it is largely a mercenary army comprised of all volunteers and paid professionals. We are as Rome was on the eve of her demise!

Many years ago, I studied Economics and Business management. I remember my teachers saying America would become a Service oriented society. The world would come to us for Technology. As we can see, this happening, people need to learn in the areas of service and technology. When I had a Landscaping Business it did very well, so well, I moved on to other things, I was snowed with work.

Our economy is poweful and in good health. The military is used to protect our interests. When you are at the top, all others want a piece of you. You should remain strong and never give in to tyranny from without or within.

Our exports are strong now as the dollar is weaker than the Euro and Yen, making our goods cheaper for others to import. This keeps job growth strong and it is now as strong as ever with a 4.6% unemployed even in summer with students in the work force.

Or, you can look at these positives through brown glasses as another respondent chose to do.

If we are "Rome on the eave of her demise", it has little to do with our military machine and more to do with our growing population of apathetic, complacent, elitist Leftists.
