a certain news channel for example says it shows both sides, Why do they think that the news has two sides? Wouldn't News be better if they just said the facts without infusing it their personal views? Can you even really call it news if it is an analysis view of what happened? Why can't the news just tell us what happened, instead of giving their take on it?

24 hr news is just another word for entertainment. How often can you rehash the same story before it starts to change.

I agree with you, they should report the news as is, not change it to please anyone. Censorship has no place in the news.

If something happens, it happens, and no one should try to put a spin on it to minimize the possible damage.

The news media should report only, not analyze, not spin, not change/ It is getting to the point that in order to fill the 24 hrs they are reporting on people cutting their toenails or showing too much cleavage. Now that's entertainment.

You bring up an interesting point.

The thing is, the media doesn't "report news" anymore, they simply provide "contemporary entertainment". The focus is almost exclusively on negative things, such as crimes, scandals and wars.

If you are lucky enough to come across a small town's local newspaper, you may still see some actual honest-to-God news reporting that isn't limited to trials and scandals and high definition images of the most recent school shooting, but simply reports from happenings around the area. Good stuff and not so good stuff.

Because everything has two sides. It is all in how you report it. The media have been infamous for these tactics since the beginning of print. For example "Republican starts major forest fire, 3 fire fighters hurt". The truth would be more like a guy was burning leaves and it got out of hand and started the forest on fire. The only tie to this guys party affiliation would be a Bush/Cheney sticker on his car. So most stories are suspect.

Its not that simple, news does have two sides.
The main problem is that many people watching, do not realize they are only being shown the shocking negative side.
This is what sells and gets ratings.
This is one of those things where the people must smart up and get their information from a wide variety of sources before they decide their stance.

Ex...
A lady came up to me the other day and started petting my dog. She went on and on about how "precious" he was.
then she asked what kind of dog he was and I told her "he is a pit."
she jumped back with a horrified look on her face and walked away slowly
I asked her what was wrong and she just ignored me.
I wander how she would have reacted if I said staffordshire or mutt.

Its not the media that is the problem, Its the people that allow it to brainwash them.

Tying your sources down to one party line is not very smart.
Once you limit yourself to what you hear you limit your knowledge and free thinking capabilities as an individual.

you grace an thrilling element. the factor is, the media does not "checklist information" anymore, they only furnish "present day leisure". the concentration is merely approximately thoroughly on damaging themes, alongside with crimes, scandals and wars. mutually as you're fortunate adequate to return by using the time of a small city's nearby newspaper, it is likewise possible to work out some particularly truthful-to-God information reporting that could now not limited to trials and scandals and extreme definition pictures of the stronger modern-day college shooting, yet merely comments from happenings around the section. great things and not so great things.

The media will take a large part of the blame for the current condition of the earth, and the destruction of "moral values". We will need these 24 hour news channels in the coming months and years, as we are now in tribulation. Many battles will be fought day and night before we arrive on the field of Armageddon.

Sure it would, and maybe ABC, CBS and NBC will figure this out someday and watch their plummeting ratings stabilize and maybe even go higher.

What you want is not possible. The main stream media are loaded with left wing liberal loonies. They don't think they are biased. They think they do a good job.
