If you got it from the state it should be certified as to its authenticity, such as by "a true copy..." yada yada yada.

You can get a copy of your birth certificate from the state. Call the hospital in your city and ask how you would get it in Pennsylvania. It is probably a different state office in each state.

It should have a raised (in texture) seal/stamp of Pennsylvania's official seal. Check with your state on the what it should look like.

You would have to go to the county court house where the original was filed.
