diff. between english and jap. anime???

Question

in shows like Naruto whats the difference between the english versions and japanese versions? such as storyline, language (besides being complete different speaking language), blood & gore, ect. ALSO if the japanese versions are soooo much better are the jap. versions w/ english subs. worth buying for the diff. or should i just watch it on tv...or read the manga (or is that even MORE complicated and diff)

btw ive watched up to ep. 100 of Naruto since thats all they've gone up to in the english version- what ep. are they on in the jap. version?

The left is after 4kids censorship (yep that's a hammer attatched to a trigger), the right is what aired in Japan.

If a story is considered to "racy" (ie homosexuality, violence, nudity, languange), it is completly cut out or changed. In Card Captor Sakura, the whole homosexuality element was completly taken out of the story, effectively chaning a lot of the characters.

If you want to see how the story was truely meant to be told, without losing anything, watch the original Japanese version with fansubs.

I prefer the japanese w/english subs. I find the english voice actors are more annoying and less "into it". Also, some information or scenes might be taken out for the english dub, because of content. So, the dub is always a "watered down" version of the original japanese version. And in some cases, the manga is different from the anime in some ways. Like, different things might happen in the manga that didn't happen in the anime or vice versa. I prefer to just watch the anime. Everyone has their preferences. So, just do what you like best.

I would say that there's very little difference between English and Japanese anime, except that if it's fan-subbed, you might find variations in the translation, but that's to be expected. Personally, I prefer watching and reading the subtitles, so long as they're correctly translated.

Other than that, they make the pictures to go with the words, so the storyline must stay the same, because otherwise they'd have to re-draw it.

As for the Jap. Naruto, I'd say you could find ep 100 and up on a site called veoh.com. Unlike YouTube, they're not taking down all their animes.

The English versions tend to be shorted due to the fact that they have been censored for viewing by children.

For Example, in Naruto the English dubs tend to have a lot of the violence removed as well as things like nose bleeds (mainly due to Naruto turning into a naked girl) or any hints at homosexual / incestuous relationships (e.g. Naruto accidentally 'kisses' Sasuke in Ep 3 which is shown in the original episode but not in the English version).

The story lines are almost identical due to the same graphics being used but you lose some of the interesting bits during censoring.

i always watching any japanese anime in japan versions. I do prefer japan versions since i love the felling of the nature of anime from that country. Once it been dub to english version, i really don't have a feeling to watch it.

the sole stupid questions are those not asked. The english language is so not ordinary to income and that i commend you for attempting. A puppy peeve is something somebody does that bothers you or in simple terms one thing that bothers you generally like my puppy peeve is the refrigerator noise or while peoplechronic 20mph in a 45mph zone.
