when a valid question is asked, they dont answer it, they just spout off their venom.
if you do not agree with a post, debate it in your answer.
if you can do that,,then dont answer the question.

Because it is dificult to defend the indefensible - I don't think there is any "Pro-McCann" who will defend leaving children alone. But that is the root of the argument. If he little ones had not been left alone, Madeleine would not now be missing.

Not everone is the same, although there do seem to be certain posters (on both sides) who refuse to see the other side and just make personal attacks against the posters. Most of these dont look at the facts, but just use it as an excuse to slag off people who dont agree with them.

I personally think the McCanns were totally wrong to leave their children in the first place and feel sure that Madeleine would be safe and well had they not left them for their own selfish self gratification. However, I know I will probably get many thumbs down for saying that, which begs the question how many of them actually condone what they did? Still the McCanns have said they did nothing wrong leaving them and some people obviously agree with them. I wonder if we will see a rise in children left on their own in the UK in the future?

I get the impression that there are just some people who will ALWAYS be rabidly defensive of the underdog. It ends up being more about the venomous quips and sarcasm than about the actual issue. You're absolutely right, if you can't add some intelligent debate to a question with a degree of respect for the participants in spite of a different opinion, you shouldn't bother to answer. Thanks for the intelligent observation--hope it's considered by those who don't 'play well with others'.

When was the last valid question asked about this, justmebackagain?

I agree that the insults go mainly in one direction but you've got the direction wrong.

Who is it who keeps accusing others of being "neglector protectors", "paedos best friends", "supporters of bad parenting", "bad parents themselves"? You've been responsible for some of those accusations yourself, haven't you?

With some notable exceptions, the non-antis attack the opposing argument while the antis attack the opponent.

The same could be said against the anti-McCanns.
They spout out venom without proof.
That isn't a debate, you know....no, you don't...

Edit: what about a certain bull-headed beast who has openly & blatantly victimised a poster & her child????? Just 'cos he hides behind a facade of easy wit which is oh! so popular among the masses, does that exonerate his venom & vile tendencies???

hey justme
you know what answers you are going to get to this? "the venom and vitriol come from both sides, etc etc etc . . . "

However, with very few exceptions, on the most part you are right, the balance is definitely over to one side on this.

In the earlier days I had some horrible stuff said about me - I've learned not to care cos no one in here knows me well enough to say the things that were said.

But you are right, if you don't agree, say so, you don't have to insult others, your point ends up getting lost . . .

I agree .. over the past few days there has been some vile posts from people who are hell bent on causing friction ..

The regulars post and we discuss it in a sensible manner .. pros and antis....

I think the situation is intensifying because of an upsurge in trolls
