I'm moving house into temporary accomodation and the place has no internet connection. Do you have any suggestions? I'm very grateful for your answers.

Not if you have a built-in wireless card. Then you can find a library or school, or even some cities that have a WI-FI zone and, you can connect there.

Yes. Regardless of what type of pc you use, you still need an internet connection either through a phone connection, or cable modem (through your tv).

Usually, laptops are wireless. That just means they pick up a signal from a pc that is connected to the internet ~ whether through phone line or cable modem.

I don't know that there is total wireless internet available yet. I don't think so but I could be wrong.

You can install the wireless equipment and see if you can pick up the signal from someone in your neighborhood but really, that is stealing. Some cities offer wireless neighborhoods (i.e., St. Cloud, Florida).

Good luck to you.

If your laptop can find an unsecured Wireless connection in the neighborhood, you may be able to get on the internet, but it "ain't legal" in most countries. So, use it sparingly until you get settled and don't do any large downloads.

You could also look for a Cyber Cafe in the area.

You can get a wifi internet connection with a card from your cell phone company. You have no telephone connections, do you have electricity and running water?
