The people who defend the McCanns worry me - I can only assume they think it is OK to leave small children alone. I hope none of them are parents themselves.

I have commented a lot in the McCann issue on YA. From the start, I have tried to take a balanced view. I have tried to understand how difficult it must be having three children and the demands that this can put on you. I have tried to understand how a young couple whilst on holiday would want to "us" time. However, every SINGLE time, I just go back to the beginning - how can any parent leave three defenceless children alone. It really is beyond me. Particularly, as the McCanns were in a large group with other friends who also had children so, why didn't they take it in turns to sit for each others children. They were selfish, they all wanted to go out together that is the truth. They left their children, probably not for the first time, but this time, they did not get away with it.

I agree.
Regardless of what actually happened to Madeleine, she would not be missing if she had been properly cared for. I have no desire to speculate on the exact circumstances, as we have no evidence so far. but, had she been properly supervised, she would not be missing now.
It was not a surprise to see the old "blame the abductor" excuse rolled out here again. It's a pity that those people who use this to excuse the McCann's neglect are too blinkered to admit that there is as much evidence to support a stranger taking Maddie, as there is to support her parents being involved in something sinister. They constantly berate us for not having evidence to support any of the conspiracy theories, yet insist that there was an abductor unknown to the Mccann's and their friends.
It smells like hypocrisy in here.

I could ask you why some people are so reluctant to acknowledge that someone did a worse thing than leave the kids alone in the apartment? I keep hearing "there is no evidence of a kidnapper" when the truth is that we don't know WHAT evidence there is!
The truth is also that WE DON'T KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT THE MCCANNS and constant repetition of an accusation against them will not make it the truth if it is not true to begin with.
Think of this. If the McCanns had not left the kids alone in the apartment that night, Madeleine would not have been abducted, true, BUT if the person who is responsible for her disappearance had not taken her (or killed her or whatever they actually did) she would not have gone missing EVEN THOUGH she and the twins had been left alone.
Only the actions of the person responsible for Madeleine's disappearance were INTENTIONALLY criminal.

Who the hell cares how the McCann's feel? It's nothing
compared to what poor little Maddie must have felt. I say
felt, because she most likely is no longer alive. Thanks,
to their stupidity and neglect. There is more to this case
than meets the eye.

I agree with you 100%. I would take their kids away and put them behind bars for a year. It's called "child endangerment" and against the law. While a 1000 people were looking for their daughter they walked on the beach to "get some normalcy back in our lifes"!! How can life be anywhere near normal when your baby girl is missing ????Never once saw them actually out there looking for her. Agony? What did Maddie go thru?
I've seen a lot of child abductions but never have I seen such peculiar behaviour as theirs! Never acted like your normal parents whos child disappeared. The investigation has been focusing on them lately. Some say its just cuz the police are stumped but I can't help but wonder if they had something to do with it cuz they've always seemed more focused on their grief rather than where their daughter was. Almost like they knew where she was all along.

Unless there is some positive news on the investigation, I think I am not alone in feeling that the media are just dragging the whole thing out to keep selling their papers. I do feel sorry for them. I hope that something concrete will emerge and it will give everybody the chance to lay the whole matter to rest. Let the media concentrate on somethng else and leave the McCanns alone.

This is a simple enough question and I dont understand why so many people have posted the answer "you dont know the truth" or "no-one knows what happened that night". Okay so no-one knows what happened to Madeleine, but we all DO KNOW that she and her brother and sister were left on their own dont we? Now it doesn't matter whether it was for an hour or 3 hours, they were left on their own, that is FACT. I think we can also say that IF Madeleine was abducted (please note I said IF), then we can safely say that she wouldn't have been if she hadn't have been left on her own! Obviously there may be more to this than we know, and we may indeed never know, but IF she was abducted, then I am sure she wouldn't have been had her parents taken the children out with them on their "family holiday" instead of being so bloody selfish!

"Also, of course there are the people being paid to keep negative posts down and stifle debate,"
Paranoid or what? Find me threads where the antis get all the thumbs down then. Where are all the pro-threads?
For debate, you mean speculation, like "they drugged the twins so they wouldn't witness the murder of Maddie." That got 10 thumbs up 3 down. Where were the people stifling that "debate"? If that is what you call debate you know where you can stick it.
It is this type of post that has provoked the reaction it has not the legitimate, but never ending, criticism of the McCanns.

Many people don't understand the question or can't be bothered to read it properly and just jump to the conclusion that you are accusing the McCanns of killing their daughter. I agree with you that they brought about the circumstances for her to go missing/have an accident/ to be murdered etc.. regardless of what has happened to the poor little soul, the parents leaving her alone contributed to it, whichever way you look at it, that fact doesn't change.
I don't understand why people refuse to face the fact that if Madeleine hadn't been left alone that night, she would be with her parents now. Whether they are suffering enough or not, it doesn't alter the facts.
As for what actually happened to her that night, I don't think we will ever know the truth. I just hope justice is done for a little girl who didn't ask for any of this to happen to her, she is the victim and she is the one who has suffered more than anyone.

this manner of recommendations who won't be in a position to handle fact gets nervous. He/she turns to manipulating human beings on account that their tries to handle fact via technology all fail. So whilst somebody tells them the fact--spoiling their pretense, their lies, fraud, pretend message, in spite of--they are in a position to now no longer get human beings to swallow their line--and that they are extra nervous than ever. so as that they attack the truthteller.
