Shopping at Disney is not cheap. T-shirts cost in the $18 to $20 range, and food can be exceptionally pricey (not to mention, not very good at certain outlets). I would encourage getting them started in Pin Trading. Maybe buy them a pin from each park they visit. Pins start as low as $6.95 (up to $12.95 for Limited Editions). I find that they are worthwhile souvenirs and my 10 and 12 year olds look forward to adding to their collection with each visit.

Close to $35 a day. Yes it seems like a lot but food is expensive if your eating three meals a day. Even if it's two meals and your getting just hot dogs and hamburgers plus drink you're around $15-$18. Take into account bottled soda/water throughout the day which I believe came to $4 a bottle last year.
Souverneirs also cost some money, shirts are around $10-$15. Friends of are were just there two weeks ago and plastic tumbler glasses were going for $9.
I advise if it's not tool late to get on the dining plan. It definately saved us money and we were constantly watching the prices. We ended up eating close to $00 more in food/drink than what we paid for.
Check out the dining plan and go for it if it works into your budget then gift around $50-$75 for souverneirs if it works for you.
Have fun -we had a blast!!

my grandsons save all their money every year to buy their own souvenirs on our yearly vacations- but it's great that you can treat them to their souvenir money! We have gone several times to Disneyland and Disney World and MY humble suggestion is to save the souvenir buying to something small- like a t-shirt they can wear for the rest of the trip- on the first day and then waiting til the end to buy up all the other stuff they have seen and (after waiting for a few days to decide)can't live without! My kids usually have about $100 to spend on vacations. They are ages 11 1/2 and 4 1/2. Even the 4 yr old has learned to budget his money over the course of a trip- we all went to England for 2 weeks this summer and he spread out his $140 (only about 70 pounds) over the whole trip! Have a great time!!!

With the age difference it may be hard the 12 and 9 year old could have a weeks budget and understand how to manage, but he 5 year old may not understand. I am curious why you chose not to use the dining plan it in it self saves a fortune. I also suggest you prearrange seating at favorite meals, looking for a place to eat is a big frustration.

in case you have the eating plan, i does not worry extraordinarily approximately nutrients. We constantly had greater nutrients than shall we consume. We have been filled all of the time, alllllll the time. i might recommend getting some clean greens and snacks from the nutrients courtroom, They final longer than the snacks interior the parks. We took insulated water bottles we prevented soda, simply by fact we didn't wish the better sugar. All that suggested, plan on information on the table provider restaraunt (not risk-free interior the eating plan anymore.) a pair snacks right here an there, and of course souvineers. i might say $10-15 an afternoon in line with guy or woman. that's what we averaged.

It all depends on what you can afford, of course, but I think $50 each, plus a t-shirt of their choice would be a good amount for souvenirs. I highly recommend getting the dining plan for them.

I'd treat them to a hundred bucks each. I know that seems like a lot, but food and treats are expensive at those places.
You might be able to get by with fifty, though. But, if you really wanna rock their worlds...give 'em a hundred bucks.
They'll crap their pants with delight! Besides that, how many times does a kid get to go to Disney World? I mean, unless you live nearby one.
You are a great grandparent, btw! Adopt me? I'm only 40. lol

Treat yourself too!!! Go with them and play it by ear... just buy things as you see yourself that they are interesting or worth the effort and expense.
Otherwise, if you can't go... I recommend you give the money to their mom, and have her give it out as she sees best. She will have better criteria than the little ones!
