If Dean decides to head for Louisiana, will New Orleans be back to square one? Are the levees ready yet? Is there an evacuation plan for people with no private transportation?

Obviously it would be a huge setback to the city if it hit the area. But thankfully it still looks like it will fall well south and west of NOLA. My understanding is the levels are back to a catagory 3 and they are still working on improving on things but not as much as I think they should. The city has always had good evacution plans in place and continues to do so.

The levees will not be able to hold up. Sadly I think my hometown will be gone. I think they will get the NOPD to go around and make sure all the people who has no transportation get transportation. Lets all pray the Dean does not hit us.

If the hurricane hit New Orleans I think they would probably be in even worse shape. That can't take another hit like that right now. That would just be another devastating blow to them.

I think it would be a major problem and show so many failures of the current administration.
