If I had been a boy, my parents were going to call me Ainsley, or Matthew. Random!

They had trouble with the girl names too; it was Chloe, then Lucy, then finally Zoe.

What would you call your little angels?

I'd like to name my children with originality but without causing them grief. There are so many pretty girl names but what do you think would be a good boy's name?

i'm old enough that ultrasounds weren't an option when my mom was carrying me, and since there were no girls in my dad's family for 3 generations, I was expected to be a boy...they were going to name me (get this) Augustus Wilhelm!!! Good thing I wasn't a boy!

I was meant to be named after my dad if I was a boy - Stephen.

INterestingly, my husband was going to be Emily if he was a girl, and we've always loved the name so our first daughter is named Emily!

I like that you want to be original without causing grief LOL - as I teacher, I can tell you there are a lot of parents who don't think about that when naming their babies!

I looked at the top 100 or maybe it was 500 boys names, and we just read them out and decided which ones were ok for us and which ones we didn't like, then chose from that list once our son was born. Once we saw him, half the names on the list didn't seem to suit him. That wasn't too hard, actually, because even out of 500 names we didn't end up finding more than about 20 that we both liked.

In a list of 500, you end up with some very unusual names that I wouldn't have thought of and had never seen before, but you know they are still (mostly) names that aren't totally unheard of and difficult to live with because there are quite a few people out there who have used them.

Hi,

I am Leonie but I was going to be called Siobhan at first and if I was a boy I would have been named Ben.

I lost my little boy Matthew at 18 weeks pregnant in 2004, if a girl he would have been called Amelia.

I will try again next year and if a boy Samuel Thomas and if a girl Emilie Grace

Well I was going to be called Joe if I was a boy so my dad decided I would be Joanne.............. I was called Jo all the time anyway..... Not surprised I grew up a tomboy!

If I had children I would want to call them something pretty (I hate my name and think it is really boring). My neices are called Jasmine and Milly and I think those names a lovely. I have nephews called Ben and Lloyd. I love the names Ben, Daniel and Jack. They are a little old fashioned but to me they sound great.

My mother had to chose a name that began with the letter J as this was the letter on the top of the page of the holybook. If I was a boy I was going to be Jason.

I have chosen names that fit the characters that I'd like my children to be. For instance I have chosen Ethan as I liked Ethan Hunt (Mission Impossible) and would like my son to have some of the characteristics of Ethan Hunt. Also I chose names that sound good with a title, for example, Dr. Ethan XXX or Rev. Ethan XXX or Sir Ethan XXX.

Boys names: Ethan, Joel, Benjamin, Vincent (Vinnie), and Cyrus.

I would have been called Hayden if I was a boy. They'd chosen Laura for a girl but changed their minds on the way to the hospital and picked Nicola instead.

I love the names Malakai, Dylan, River, and Ethan. My boyfriend likes names like Edward, George, William, Henry and Charles - he says they're Regal.

My father wanted too name me Garreth Allen!!!! Only because his name is Garry and he wanted to have a boy named after him....

!!!*Thanks heaven I was born a girl*!!!

My mother wanted me too be Leeya May, then Chloe Joleen, Then finally Naomi Lorraine!!!!

I have a 9 month old daughter. I wanted a name for her that was one of a kind, so I named her Anaya Lillie. Anaya came from nowhere, I just thought of it one day. But Lillie is after my grandmother who's name is Lily Lorraine...

Im currently 30 weeks pregnant and am having a boy so I have tried too think of a name for him that noone has... But that is alot harder.. But I have chosen too name him Brody Jay!
