can someone help me understand this ?

Question

according to the experts & facts africans are the oldest civilization of humanoids on this planet,this being true,why is africa the most undevelopped/backward place on the planet.i mean if it wasn't for western man coming in & building whatever industries,hospitals,schools etc. that are there now africa would be pretty much as it was,lets say 3 thousand years ago,but yet they are the oldest civilization on the planet.
can anyone enlighten me on this quandary?

Africa did have some civilizations throughout its history like Mali, Shongai, Monomotapa with the capital Zimbabwe.
I am sure you are just referring to Sub Saharan Africa since North Africa had civilations like Carthage through to Egypt etc.

As for the numerous hunter gatherers they have the natural resources do not need to build cities and towns to sustain themselves but life his busy and hard so they must always be on the move and everyone must contribute their part in order for the society to evolve. There is no time to sit down, contemplate your navel and dream up inventions, write poetry or you will be driven out or worse. Our North American plains Indians were much like that.

As you indicate colonies and Empires do bring good things like advances in technology, great infrastructures, trade commercial routes etc but also a lot of trouble as well. In Africa the colonial powers did not include the Africans as equals in many cases and they did little to further their education while there. Even worse, Africa was split between competing European powers and tribes that hated one another were forced to come together and other groups that worked well as teams and had good potential for technical advancement were split apart. These conditions caused the genocides and civil wars we have seen over th last few decades.

That said, it has been almost 50 years since the Europeans left and in my opinion one cannot act like adolescents blaming their parents for all their troubles and failures all of their lives. Even the great revolutionary Che Guevara went to stir up the revolutionary spirit in Africa after splitting with Castro, shook his head in frustration and returned to stir up the pot in Bolivia saying these African people would not be of much use since they had no drive and where with all to liberate themselves.I would guess there has to come a point where the leadership and countries get a grip on themselves, crush all the corruption, make sure the vast amounts of foreign aid get to the poor and sick rather than to the pockets of despots and warlords.

To answer your question, I would implore you to get your facts right before asking such questions based on your own individual speculation.

Africa was doing mighty FINE before the Europeans came over with their ships, capturing slaves and corrupting Africans with their shady ways and minds. They ate well, had peaceful civilizations with government, law, order, education, trades and profession, medicine, curable aliments etc. They were very happy and content with their lives. They lived longer and had better health. WHAT ELSE DOES MANKIND NEED?

The Europeans, moved around the world bringing diseases and problems to other parts of the world. Stealing land and manpower. YOUR SO CALLED DEVELOPED SOCIETY WAS BUILT ON THE BLOOD AND SWEAT OF AFRICANS TAKEN FROM THEIR HOMELANDS AND NOT FORGET TING THE NATIVES OF OTHER COUNTRIES

What makes you say that Africa is under developed? Have you been there to see it for yourself? Because you sit at home and read or watch what your western media feeds you does not give you the right to say that Africans are backward.

Maybe Africa doesn't have your own kind or type of industries, hospitals, schools etc That does not mean that they don't have THEIR own type of industries, hospitals, schools etc. You think that your type of economy is better than the ones they have in Africa? You think that your society is the better society? You think that your way of life is better than the African way?

Your so-called western developed society is killing the world. Machines, waste, ozone layer, money, war. People have said that once your technology and machines blows-up this world, man will go back living as he once did when the world was young. That civilization will be gone, just like you so called Roman civilization and the African civilization is still intact and stronger than ever...OVER TIME WHILE OTHER CIVILIZATION WERE BORN AND DESTROYED, THE AFRICAN CIVILIZATION LIVES FOREVER NEVER DESTROYED.

AFRICA WILL CONTINUE TO SEE THE BIRTH AND DEATH OF OTHER COUNTRIES. AFRICA IS FOREVER!
