Documentaries are supposed to be presented without bias. They are based on factual information gained by research, observations, testimony of participants . Documentaries are not supposed ot present opinions without identifying them as such and should not present only one side of a story, incident or historical data without presenting all factors that are involved with or influence the situation. When the documentary is ended the observer, reader, listener should be able to form an opinion based on the information provided in the essay as it is presented without having to obtain further facts or information. A documentary becomes propaganda when the presenter biases the data in the direction that they feel is appropriate for their views on the subject. In that case the person observing the results of the information is greatly influenced by outside opinion, perhaps data that is omitted that would conflict with the presenters opinions. A true documentary if factual, without bias and as complete as time, funds and historical or current information will allow but without any omissions or bias. The "viewer" can then adopt a particular opinion based on facts presented not on opinions of the presenter which become propaganda intended to influence opinion. Just for the record, most reporting today is not complete, not accurate, more often than not based on the opinions or observations of the presenter who often has no factual knowledge of the subject, at hand rather than proven or documented data obtained from several sources providing several, including opposing, factes of the subject

I don't agree with Lotus: A documentary gives you all sides of the issue and all important data, that's why it's called a "documentary"
