jimi and a friend are sitting in a house and jimi tells him to look outside and he says its raining so jimi starts smoking weed so that they can dream away, thats about as basic as i can but it but theres also more to the song.

I dunno, but it shouldnt matter if its Jimi men! well he did alot of drugs, most of the time he mixed up a bunch of uppers and downers together, so maybe thats why he's so creative men. Anyway you rock!

I think that it's because he was inhaling drugs at the time which caused him to cough..
either way it's genius that song.

If you listen closely, you can hear him clearing his throat in "Foxey Lady". I guess it was just something he did in his songs.
