A man I know is planning a suicide death pact thing with a 19yr old girl I know. He is a former police officer and former pastor... but has some serious issues we are in michigan and he is trying to get her to come up in a few weeks to hang together nude and die as they ____.... is it my duty to contact the police or is it legal? PLEASE I really want to know what to do...

I have sent the logs to his pastor and told him the blood is on his hands if he doesnt do a thing about it... see this involves more than just some sicko... the pastor teaches sinless perfection and so the sicko doesnt think its sin... btw i am the pastor of the 19yr old when she comes... she lives in another state... its odd i know I dont want it to happen... but i am about to cut off communication tothe girl once its out of my hands cuz she is just as responsible as the paedo. yes she is 19 but she was 16 or so when he started to abuse her. :( well plz any LE that knows michigan law comment thanks

Suicide is NOT legal.
You have a moral duty to do anything you can to try to reach this girl and prevent her from the ultimate sin of taking her own life.
If you cannot get through to her, contact your local Crimestoppers anonymous tip line and give the specifics without revealing your identity. While the girl is still of legal age, many 19 year old are immature and can easily be manipulated by older authority figures.
Even worse, she could be making the whole thing up as she is mentally disturbed and a "sympathy" or "drama" junkie. Either way, in telling you, deep in her heart, she wants to be stopped from harming herself any further. Perhaps another authority figure, another cop, questioning her would make her think twice.

ya...u have ur legal and social obligation about it when u know the matter. i think good advices and stuff like these are not going to work for these sick people. u can do nothing but simply informing the police and the human-rights organizations.
both of them r adult. but its clear that both r nuts unfortunately...coz one wants to commit suicide and the other agrees to give him a company!!! anyway u r normal and u have to inform it to the organizations concerned. don't involve yourself is this matter by any other means.

Honestly...calling the cops would send them away and will make them go threw more pain...my friend got called on and she wanted go commit suicide there. When she came back, she now kept suicide to herself and now would kill herself privately. Well, he opened up to you that's one good step. He's looking for a solution. Talk to him about Love and God...or be there for him..talk to him about people who go threw WAY WORSE stuff...and he shouldn't be bringing a young girl with him? That's horrible..if someone tells you about there struggle with suicide. Then they can actually stop.

I think that you should contact the police and tell them where and when if i knew someone was going to commit suicide and i was good friends to them, i would have a guilty councious knowing that you didn't do nothing...i think you should try and get her out of this situation...i think they both must have issues if she wants to commit with him....And the police would get help for them...thats what you want isnt it??

Yeah notify the cops. You need to have some kind of proof, but thats the best you can do. Because they are both adults they can do what they want. By you saying something to the authorities though, they may be able to interject before something happens and get them both help.

Call the police, he seems to be trying to coerce her into it. That is very sad and you will feel guilty knowing about it if you dont do something. No matter how shitty a life is life is still all we have and problems can be fixed. Please help these people to get the help they need and sort their lives out rather than wasting them

If you know them, give them sound advice. Ask them why they would commit suicide. If they will tell you what's wrong then ask for help from a pastor or police.

i have to wonder how truthful this question is but
yes you have a legal and moral obligation to the girl at lest, if he wants to kill himself he can bloody well do it by himself.
we have enough cowards in this country killing there spouse and children cause they have to go beyond the point of no return before they can commit suicide

You need to contact the police, i'm sure they will do something to help, he obviously needs serious help. Also i'm sure it can't be legal to persuade somebody to die with you!
