yes. I understand advertising in movies and even in games (a new future for advertising if you ask me)
I pay close attention to advertising all around me because it annoys me
but why is Apple so consistent?

I'm not sure if advertising alone is the answer.

take http://www.apple.com/trailers/ for example. one of the only non commercial subsidized trailer sites out there.
seems like they have a partnership.

Several reasons may be behind it. To begin with, Apples tend to be more popular with the creative types, who are the people who are making the movies. Secondly, they've historically had a prettier interface (ie what is on screen), and more were more readily identifiable as to what was going on on-screen.

But in terms of product placement, that should not be discounted. Pretty much every studio movie has someone whose job it is to ensure that only approved products appear on screen. Insurance, which might have to pay out should a studio get sued for unapproved use of an identifiable product, pretty much demands them. That does not mean that a company paid for their product to appear, but it does mean they OKed it. It is probably also easier to get Mac approval, as that would cover the software on screen as well as the computer itself, while a PC would require seperate hardware and software approval.

These days a new trend has picked up . In which the movie producers are paid for showing the products on the big screen . Bigger the banner more is the amount of the money given for the stuff . But why are the company guys chosing this as a new medium for advertising ?? Advertising over the internet has become a nusiance for the surfers , so most of them have installed pop up blockers . Where the sites display the commercials , we usually skip it . These days people are most annoyed with the television commercials . When we encounter a television commercial , we easily move on to the next channel . So , some ad agencies have come up with this innovative way of advertising , in which the viewer doesnt lose his interest as well as the product is advertised . I hope it is clear now ....

Advertising.
It's that simple, apple pays that much money for that item to be in movies. Some people see it and have to get one.
It's easier to get the word out through movies sometimes and it's embedded in the movie to create all subliminal messages.

Many of the movies you see are in Hollywood and apple is used mainly in the US so maybe this is why you see them in movies.
