It's in an inaccessible position, inside the loft between the external wall and the internal breeze block wall.

Unless it is an inconvenience to you leave well alone, we are coming to the end of the wasp season and wasps do not return to the same nest next year Block the hole and you could wind up with a loft full of very angry WASP'S.

Do it at night, in the dark. I just took out a ground wasp nest. Using a flashlight I placed the beam on the nest. Then I took boiling water and poured it on the nest. Then took a ski pole and tore the nest up while pouring more boiling water into the nest. The wasps will be crawling out of the nest and are easy targets for dispatching. If they fly they will head for the light. With the nest completely decimated the colony will cease to produce more wasps and die. By morning it's all over.

If you have a hanging nest simply place a plastic garbage bag over the entire nest (at night). Cut off the branch it is hanging from. Close the bag and let it lay for several days to eliminate the wasps. Don't reopen the bag, ever. Dispose of it.

If it is a nest hanging in an eve of a roof. Use wasp freeze and again spray it at night. The wasps can't see to fly. Remove the nest when safe to do so.

Wasps are easy to kill.
1 do it at night as you will get the whole nest and most wasps can not see in the dark so it is a lot safer
2 Put red cellophane over your torch as a few types of wasps will attack a torch light at night but they can not see red light.
3 Most fly sprays will kill them . Use a fast knock down spray.By the description you gave you may need to get a spray can with a long tube to get into them.
4 Just in case wear as much protective clothing as possible
5 You may need a ladder and someone to hold it. If this is no good maybe you can drill a small hole in the wall and spray them form the inside.
6 if all else fails call a pest controller

Had one in my porch roof that was inaccessible. Ended up jamming the nozzle (with two extension pipes) of a cylinder vacuum cleaner at the entrance to the nest. Squirted copious amounts of fly/wasp killer down the nozzle first. Left the vacuum cleaner on for about forty five minutes and got most of the little swines. Finished off by squirting a wasp nest zapper spray (Raid) up the hole. Only alternative is to call in the professionals.

hello one answer said call the council and they will remove for free, sorry to say this ended years ago they won't even come for free to pensioners now, be it wasps hornets or rats , they will treat the nest but it will cost you minimum £75.00. To clear try to locate as near in the cavity wall where the little beasts have nested you do not have to be accurate, then drill a 1/4 inch hole through th course of the brickwork from outside, squirt in a full can of "HORNET" killer by inserting the nozzle into the hole, do this actual treatment at dusk when they are all inside
you will be able to carry out this work in complete safety as will not venture through this new hole. Have done it!

Get some spray called "Home Defense". Spray the nest and wait about 20 min. then go knock the nest down. This spray when sprayed around the area will keep the things away for up to a year. I use this stuff all the time.

In an awkward place like that I'd definitely call a professional.

I've dealt with them in garden walls with paraffin, a match on a stick and the ability to run like the clappers, but I wouldn't recommend it in your case!

There is some powder that you can buy at places like B&Q, you just wait til dusk (when they are most doscile) and squirt it through the exits that they are using. It worked for us and only costs about £4.

Hmm its almost the end of the season for wasps - if you can bear it, leave it be. They won't come back to that nest next year!

Otherwise get a pro in - nasty evil little black and yellow things they are!
