depends what style you want to draw in
there is pen, which basically all you need is a pen, a calligraphy pen etc.
if you want to work with pencil you need pencils with various numbers like for example the number 2 pencil as we all are familiar with
the numbers represent the hardness of the pencil and the dark and thickness
also in pencil drawings you will need a rubber (no, not a condom) this tool is used for smudging and shadowing, you can use a regular eraser, but using a specific rubber will look better

A pen and paper will do. Just start drawing what you see around you, not stuff out of your head.

paper & pencil-find pictures that you like, go buy "how to draw" books, or go to the library. the more you draw, the better you get. (If you wanna get "detailed", go to "Roberts", "Michaels" (arts & crafts stores), or an art store & buy some art pencils & blending sticks.
