there is a bios setting that controls it doing that. you can change that by turning on your computer and before it goes into windows or anything (while its booting) you will have to hit the key that gets it there. different computers use different keys. F2 and F10 are fairly common. it should have a couple keys listed on the screen, but you have to do it then if you wait too long it wont do it and you will have to restart the computer and try again. from there look through the settings and see if there is an option that you can turn off to stop that from happenning.

in case you incredibly turn the pc OFF (it incredibly is Shutdown or Hibernate) quite than only placed it into sleep/standby earlier ineffective night, then the only ingredient that could turn the pc on is the BIOS. This was once delusion, yet i've got heard that it incredibly is unquestionably available for some cutting-area BIOSs to do this. I advise you're taking a seem at your BIOS setup parameters next time you boot up. on the different hand, now that I re-study your description, if that's an previous XP gadget, i do no longer understand whilst that characteristic became added to BIOS. wish that facilitates.

That's impossible. If the computer is switched off , no virus can physically push in the power button . Most likely the computer is not turned off, and wakes up from hybernation.

my computer was doing this same thing. it was completely off, not hybernating, and it would come on at random times. i had a bios setting to allow a lan connection to turn it on, i think that solved it. try turning off the switch on the back of the power supply.

Some BIOS has exactly that kind of automatic boot setting. Have you checked that?

Hmmm, I think you probably have a virus. Download an Antivirus such as Bitdefender (my favorite) or Norton.
