Is it ok to buy a normal ring and wear it on the marriage finger, and treat it like a purity (chastity) ring?? I'm not sure where to get purity rings; and I think they're probably too expensive.

Also, do you have to wear purity rings 24/7 or can you wear them when you want ? Thanks!

...Just curious :)

this might sound corny but here's what i got. yes i think you can just treat it like a purity ring. a purity ring is not about the style, it's all about the meaning. if you really treat it like a purity ring and actually mean it and be serious about it and not just treat it like a fashion, yes it would turn into a purity ring, and you'll know this by heart.

and i think if you really want to take purity seriously, then yes wear it 24/7, but maybe you can take it off when you shower then put it back on

and if you really want some purity rings, then here, i found some pretty nice and cheap ones for you = http://search.ebay.com/purity-ring_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQfromZR40

you can get any ring and wear it as a purity ring. What is really popular tho is to buy rings that are specifically meant for that purpose, simply because if it looks like a wedding ring or an engagement ring, people think you are married/engaged. Silver is a popular metal for purity rings because of this. If you want to get a true purity ring, go to truelovewaits.com and check out the links there, or you could just find a good fashion ring somewhere that you like and call it your purity ring. And you don't have to wear it all the time. Many fine jewelry retailers will tell you that at least for the first few weeks you need to take the ring off every night until your skin gets used to it. and if it doesn't fit properly, you are likely to end up with a rash from moisture getting trapped under it, so choose carefully. Well, hope that helped!

Of course it is!! You can wear whatever ring you choose as your purity ring. The ring itself isn't as important as the reason behind your wearing it. My best friend's ring was a yellow gold ring with a very large pearl in it that her parent's gave her (probably pretty expensive). Mine was a simple sterling silver ring with a cross and and angel design. It cost no more than about $50. (I bought it from a store called C28, they have a lot of nice silver rings, www.c28.com if you wanna look).
You don't have to wear it all the time but most people that I know that have worn them have chosen to. To me, it wasn't just a ring but an outward sign and a constant reminder to myself of my commitment to purity. I wore it all the time until I got engaged and my engagement ring and then wedding ring went on that finger.
Hope that helps!

I'm not sure what you consider expensive, but James Avery has true love waits rings for like $30. But sure it's fine to buy another ring and treat it like a chasity ring. I never wore my chasity ring 24/7. I normally took it off when I showered and when i went to bed. The ring is just a symbol, just because you dont wear it doesnt make you a lesser person... Hope this helps you!

If it is like a wedding ring, you can go to a pawn shop and get a nice real gold (maybe only 10K or 14K but still gold) for around $20. and if it is like a signifier of marriage to purity, I would definitely get real gold or silver and wear it 24/7.
