We have had quite a few family parties, birthdays, etc. but we dress up like formal dresses. It's getting to be too expensive, buying a new dress for every party. Do you think it's okay to wear a dress twice? I mean wear a dress I haven't worm in a while?Maybe dress it up with different jewelry?

I can't imagine not wearing a dress more than once or twice. I don't buy something unless I really like it and want to keep it for a long time. Yes, accessories will change the look of a dress completely. For instance, pearls will give an elegant look, but the same dress with a colorful necklace or crystals will not seem like it is the same dress at all. I love scarves and I probably have two drawers full of them. Shoes and hose color make a difference too.

What is great if you have solid color dresses, you can make them look entirely different by re-accessorizing them. YOu can for example with a green dress use all white accessories one time, and all red another, and maybe patterned scarf and bold belts etc. another time. Same with Navy, Black and red. Just change the entire set of accessories and it looks like a different outfit.

Yes . Maybe try a nice belt, and different shoes and jewellery :)
OR, you can ask to borrow a dress from a friend or relative .. you could swap ! Or you can go to a vintage / op shop like charity stores where you can get nice cheaper dresses .

Definitely. Dress it up with different jewelry and bold shoes. So people would be more focus on your shoes than your dress.

You could get a cute cardigan or sheer blouse to wear over the top, to give it a look of being a two-piece outfit. If that doesn't work, get a large shawl and drape it around your shoulders.

it's about people not what they wear anyway.
you might consider having it shortened or wearing a wrap / jacket or sheer blouse with it . not sure the style . a belt can totally change the look.
wear it and enjoy being with your family. just frown and make faces at those tabloid photographers and any other paparazzi's !!!

yeah good idea try it with different hair and shoes as well. i wouldn't want to waste my money either on a different dress if they all just end up in my closet worn once.

its fine.. just mix it up.. yes different jewelry and do your hair differently... if you can maybe different shoes.. but i know shoes are expensive too!
