I really want to get the heck out of the college I am going to now so I can transfer to a top university so I signed up for 20 units this semester. How difficult do you think it will be?

I am going to be taking:

Physical Geography - 3 units

Introductory Sociology - 3 units

Spanish 1 - 5 units

Social Psychology - 3 units

Abnormal Psychology - 3 units

Cross-Cultural Studies - 3 units

Surprisingly I'm not a sociology or psychology major, lol.

If you really want to transfer, what is most important is keeping your grades as strong as possible, and taking far more units than expected is not usually the best way to do that. Just taking lots of units won't impress them. So the question is, are you so bright that what would be a huge schedule for most people no challenge for you? And if that is the case, is your current school good enough to allow you to make the transfer to a "top university"?

well, you have taken on a big load. it depends on how good your study skills are and how well you assign yourself tasks - and then complete them.

get your reading projects with associated papers done first.
no matter what the deadline - turn your stuff in early. be sure to save time for spanish - because there is no was to circumvent a lot of repetition so remember the words.

consider taking some on line courses - so you don't have to show up for class so much. university of alaska is a fully accredited university and has a huge selection of on line courses. many are lectures on line you can listen to at your convenience.

these sound like a lot of general ed requiremnts - so if you know a bit about a lot of stuff you'll probably do ok. just don't expect to work or hold much of a social life.

good luck

I took 21 hours one semester because I was getting ready to transfer and wanted to get a really big science class out of the way. Long story short, the second school I went to wouldn't accept the class and I had to retake it. Check it all out before you kill yourself. 20 hours is tough!!!

I took 21 units last semester. I had classes everyday which kind of sucked, but other than that it wasn't too bad.

Yes, it is possible to take 20 hours a semester and be successful. As long as you aren't working and (ideally) this ISN"T your first semester.
