I usually just ignore the comment made, unless it becomes a constant thing, then I ignore the person alltogether, however, I never block anyone; there would have to be an extreme & very good reason for me to block someone, and truthfully, someone saying something offensive to or about me isn't really a good enough reason, mostly because I know it's not true, and because I don't actually know the person making the comment (personally), so I don't care. That being said, I haven't even really had anything like that happen to me.

Not a good idea.
1) Define "bad answer" - this is very subjective and EVERYONE might not always think any given answer is a goo one.
2) Everyone blocking everyone = you will end up having NO ONE answering anyone's questions , or at least very few people will get to answer (due to being blocked)
3) IF you can do it to others, they can do it to you.
4) Don't take Y!A so seriously. There are more important things in life to worry about. If you are fed up.... walk away from the computer, make a cuppa or go for a walk. Come back half an hour later.
Cheers

Well, it just seems that Yahoo!Answers isn't as much fun nowadays.
Trolls are mining the Q&A lists, the Troll Patrol team is creating problems unintentionally, the Thumbs Down Group continues their hate, and innocent questions are getting Violation Notices.
Even with keeping the Q&A private, and the Network private, the reporting activity continues.
So, now, trying to "block" people just seems like too much effort to preserve the little fun that remains. I just don't know if it would work or not.
But, I do agree with you when you said: "some of us are tired of it". Amen to that.

I'm all for it. It's amazing when I ask a question and someone answers back with a racial slur or something else ignorant. I've started to either ignore them or treat it with humor. They do stuff like this to get a rise out of people...if we ignore them they may eventually go away...I'm with you!!! When does the boycott begin???

The problem is that there are so many users here that you will never get that many people to agree with you or even know of you idea to make it practical. However I do agree that is a fine idea and I think you should run with it anyway.
If it irritates one troll or rude person it's so worth it!
