I certainly don't agree with Mr Dreamer.
Let me get two definitions in first:

Belief means to "hold as true". For example, Columbus believed he could reach India by sailing west. He had no solid evidence to the contrary so his belief was justified. Faith is acting on belief. For example, many people believed India could be reached by sailing west but they didn't have the faith to try it.

Meaning is related to purpose. We get meaning when we live our lives for a real purpose. Real purpose refers to the question, "what is it that I was put on earth to do?" Purpose requires a Creator (God). Consider this quote:

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted 20th century philosopher, mathematician, writer and Nobel Laureate)

If God doesn't exist, then we humans are here through the mindless natural process of evolution. Natural processes cannot give us reasons for being here. The idea that our lives have no meaning is deeply disturbing to us and we can't face it honestly. To do so would drive us to insanity or suicide. Consider this quote from another modern philosopher:

There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. Deciding whether or not life is worth living is to answer the fundamental question in philosophy. All other questions follow from that." (Albert Camus)

Something in our human nature demands that our lives have worth and worth is meaning and meaning comes from purpose. If God exists, then it is logical to believe that He put our intense need for worth and purpose and meaning into our human nature in order to point us to seek Him.

For those who reject God, the definition of purpose changes from "what was I put here to do?" to "what can I do to get through life in the face of the overwhelming meaninglessness of life that would drive me to suicide?" The answer here is a set of psychological techniques (or tricks) that result in a feeling (or illusion) of having a purpose for living.

Creating your own meaning is one such psychological trick. When you see the phrase, "create your own meaning...", it really means "create your own illusion...". The procedure is to do something that others would praise, volunteer at a cancer clinic for example, then imagine the praise you should get. With that, you will get a good feeling and that good feeling gives the illusion that your purpose in life is to help at a cancer clinic. This psychological trick puts praise, both real and imagined praise, at the center of life, substituting for real purpose..

I think that Human kind was created/born into this world with so many gifts too good to be wasted , Human kind has the power to exploit nature and other creatures for his own good , Human kind can observe-think-feel-connect , I don't think all this is for nothing ; even without religions telling me we have a purpose in life , I feel it inside my heart that I want a light at the end of the tunnel so I don't feel like my life was in vain , or else I am not feeling so comfortable in life and ending it would sound much much more easy than suffering every single moment of my life . Cheers

The question itself is the answer in common christian teaching. General way to set up a god centered life is beleive that God is supreme and everything is happening unto his will. But it is very difficult to believe like that. So many people build up their Empires in this world depending on their self. But some people run back to the so-called god centers when they fail in the worldly life. Islam and Parsi religions believe that this world is only a training ground. Our duty is to do our best and accept whatever comes. We will be getting more responsible works in the next life in God's other world.

Bible gives multiple pictures of Human life in different ages.
Jesus Christ said each and every one will be rewarded, if they are using their potential in maximum. There are inspirational theories in all Religious books.

Faith refers that blindly believe that there is one almighty and if I pray he will guide us in day today life.
But I think if God is there is a God, all creations are in God, their movements are under his control, whatever we term as good or Bad comes under his purview. There is nothing to worry about life. take life as it comes!

Your question comes in the way that it is something to be propogated and made known to others..!!!
