first of all i dont think kevin durant is going to be the next k.g. he is way too short, he is 6'9'' and k.g. is 6'11''. the only thing good about him is his 7'5'' arm span and his game. he still has a lot to prove, not just the usa basketball. and i wonder if carmelo is ever going to live up to the hype like the time when he was first drafted. these 2 players are very similar in my opinion and i want to ask who is better or who will be better lets say 5 years from now?
and by the way, please dont mention greg oden. he is just a flop, he is nothing, he will end up just like emeka okafor. all the hype from college but ends up as no threat to any nba team.

I'd go with Melo as for now since Kevin Durant hasn't proven anything yet in the NBA.
But after 5 years, I think Kevin Durant has the bigger chance to be greater.
I'm not so sure about Greg Oden but I doubt it if he would completely be a bust. I think he could be worth being selected as first pick on the long run. Let's just hope that he's no Olowakandi or it will surely be very disappointing.

melo is definetly better Now..... 5 years from now could be different story. Durant has ENORMOUS upside.
I have to disagree with you on Oden though. There is no comparison between him and Okafor. Durant is a lot closer to KG than Okafor is to Oden. He is taller, way more athletic, better offensive skills.... the guy is a beast, man! Give a couple years, I promise ya!

pssh Durant will become greater than carmelo. he still has to improve but playing with the big boyz will sure toughen him up and increase his abilities.
