ive been thinking about suicide foor a while but i decided to give being a happy person a try. what are some good easy steps to being happy?

Muster up the courage. You have a lot to enjoy and offer to this world. It is just that the time is not ripe yet. Wait for the opportunity. Just take a long walk and visit some museums, zoo, and go to movies. Don't remain idle. You can pick up a nice book to read and a hobby to pursue.

Hello my friend. Well, depression can be a very hard thing to deal with, and a lot of times people wont understand when you try to explain your symptoms to them. Doing your best to be a happy person is a great thing, and it makes me happy to hear that, but also take some caution in your state of depression. Even with a mild depression it can get worse. I know the T.V. commercials that speak of depression and the symptoms you may be having may sound a bit ridiculous, but for the most part they are correct in what they say. The only reason I am telling you to take caution is because I am Bi-Polar, Schizophrenic, and ADD to the max (aren't we all!!) and I take a lot of medication every day, so I know that slight problems can progress to big problems if they aren't taken care of properly. Tell your doctor about this the next time you see him/her too, he may have some good recommendations for you to get back to feeling happy-go-lucky. Don't be worried my friend, depression is a common thing in society and you are no different from anyone else in this world, so don't be frightened by what I'm saying, just be smart and stay safe at you're best. Group therapy would expose you to other people who are in a similar situation and it would prove you are not alone.
The decision to be happy is a wonderful stride. You must have an action plan for those days when things are too sad or stressful so you don't go back to those feelings of hopelessness and solitude.
What I did when I was in your situation was I went to church. I did not have the answers or hope in my life so I decided to leave it up to God. That worked for a short while. Then I went to my doctor who recommended I enroll in a Mind and Body class through Kaiser. I was also seeing a therapist.
The class at Kaiser really really helped me. I took it seriously and really followed the steps. I have altered the things in my life that I have control of to better my situation. Now I am happy and I have hope. I only wish this for you too.
There are resources out there to help people in your situation, but you have to want change and you have to get out there and search for it, so it will come to you. Best of luck

Look honey, we can't be entirely happy in this life coz of all the things we go through on our lives every day but u need to look inside of u for all those things that makes u happy or at least gives u comfort. There was one time I tried to commit suicide and I thank God that I didn't die coz life is the better thing we can have. Everyday I try to do the best I can to be happy even though I know I'm not but I thank God everyday coz he gives me the opportunity to search for happiness and another day to better myself. Think of all the things u will miss if u die, ur life is very important for those who loves u and for God too. Sometimes we think that God forget us but that's not true, he's always here by our side, let him be in ur heart and u'll see that everything will be better, I'm not telling u that everything's going to be alright but with God in our hearts problems are easier to go through. Think about it and if u ever need someone to talk to, contact me and I'll be happy to talk to u, u will have a friend in me :) Chin up and enjoy ur life

I have depression and getting over it isn't as easy as just becoming happy, but it helps when you look at your life and think of all the pluses. It also helps if you get involved in the community with something. If you're helping people you will feel good about yourself, plus the busier the better. Also find a friend you can talk to about all of the things getting you down and it will help tremendously!

i used to be depressed but an easy way to stop is by just doing whatever u want. who th hell cares what other ppl think. block em out of ur mind if u want. take a vacation. if moneys a problem then take a "vacation" at home (thats what i did) i made it look like hawaii in my home. its ur life. it doesnt matter if people look at you and think ur crazy just ignore them and be happy. dont think about suicide because every life is worth so much. let me know if it works ;)

i went through i think a similar stretch in my life. right now i am fairly happy. the reason i didnt kill myself a couple years back is because when i talked about it with a friend they said to me "Thats the most selfish thing i have ever heard come out of your mouth. how could you think something like that?" it shocked the hell out of me. before you can move on you have to think about the reason why you choose to continue to live. only then can you control any depression relapses. my secret to being happy: being as nice as i possibly can to everyone around me. i believe in karma- what goes around comes around- and it seems to be workin out pretty well for me right now.

there are so many things to be happy about.
being alive, the ppl in ur life, the simple things.
find a hobby that makes u happy.
ur friends and family.
there are also many hotlines to talk to ppl who can help u when u feel depressed.
i hope u feel better

3) Don't be depress
4) Pray to God

Don't even think about suicide! Keep living. Your mother gave birth to you so that you can live.

you need to think about the things that get you depressed and one by one take steps on bettering them! make a list if that helps...take on the easiest 1st! and btw...nothing is bad enough to think of suicide! good luck
