Yes I was very disappointed. I felt there should have been a LOT less Ron Hermoine and Harry fighting and camping and more respectful deaths for characters who have been with the readers for so long. Tossing them on tables at Hogwarts like meat was just wrong. And the epilogue was a total cop out. Readers deserved better. Pax- C

In some ways I was disappointed in the book and in other ways I enjoyed it.

The search by Harry, Ron, and Hermione did drag at times, and I got tired of the bickering, but the climax was great.

I disagree with Persephone's comment about: "Tossing them on tables at Hogwarts like meat was just wrong."

This was not being disrespectful, but very realistic. The bodies of the slain defenders were brought into the Great Hall and respectfully laid out, not only to show respect, but to protect the bodies from being used as Inferi. Where should they have placed the bodies? In Moaning Myrtle's toilet? The kitchen? It would have been much more disrespectfull to have left the bodies where they fell, and the Great Hall is the logical place for the bodies to be brought.

None of you realise how hard it is to write an ending to an epic novel hat has stretched out for ten years and has so many plot lines to tie up... Rowling probably had a limet, such as keeping the book under a thousand pages and she had to satisfy all the Harry Potter fans out there... there weren't many options for her, I am sure, and I don't think anybody would have ever done a better job than she, as she is the creator.. I agree it was a little anticlimactic, but what more could she have said on the subject?

I have just read the first 11 chapters - it's not a bad book, but i think the other HP books were better i suppose. I already know what happens in the book - i spoiled it for myself :( However i am expecting the book to get much better as i go along ...
I have read the epilogue and well i was pretty disappointed too. i was happy harry/ginny and ron/hermione married, but the ending seemed a bit ... dull.

I was disappointed with how there really was no closure about what happened to the families of those people who died in the final battle. Other than that, this was a pretty okay book.

And Snape... jeez... I have newfound respect and love for the man.

like they say, there is no one who doesn't have an ideal way to edit a book..or to write it for that matter.
but actually sitting down and writing the book is a monumental feat.
i thought that the book was wonderful. im only disappointed by the fact that rowling did not tell us more about harry, ron and Hermione's futures....not about them marrying and having kids, but what they actually did for a living...

I absolutley LOVED the 7th book. It was just like the others. I think that people didn't find it as good as the rest becasue there was no Hogwarts.

Disappointed? No way! This was by far the best one of the whole series. The epilogue was not a cop out, it was closure.

Yes! Chapter 36 needs to be completely revised, it's grossly inaccurate, as you can see, Lord Voldemort is still very much alive!
