Michael W Smith - and his band.
Sorry...I know you said band but Michael W. Smith is an amazing recodring artist, musician and composer. He has written and recorded lots of amazing songs arranging all the music as well.
His music has lasted three decades and we are still buying his albums today.

Band- Poison. Love the music and the look!
Favorite 80's song is totally different, though. I love that "aint nothing gonna break my stride nobody gonna slow me down....I got to keep on move'n"

My first is Guns and Roses.
My second is Def Lepard.
My third is Poison.
They have so many best hits that I simply fell in love with their songs. All of the bands don't meet my first impression standards, but they play great. Totally awesome.

U2 - I love their current stuff as well, but there 80's stuff really rocked. Bullet the Blue Sky, Sunday Bloody, Sunday, Bad... I could go on forever...

Def-Lepard reason is because they rock and no band will ever be that great there music still gets played today and their concerts are the best.
