I have read that the NRA has been selling out gun owners. I am starting to wonder if they may have been infiltrated?

I will also add that the best protector of gun rights, of all pressidential candidates, is Ron Paul.

I am a libertarian, Mr_ektingyue, and Bush is an authoritarian, he is NOT a conservative. he is really against guns, but he knows that he couldn't get elected by conservatives if he said that he opposed them. He was IN FAVOR of the gun bans.

Say what you will about the NRA but only a fool would deny that the NRA has done more to stop gun control than any other organization. Period! No other group has their kind of clout and pull on the issues concerning the 2nd Amendment and no other group has anywhere close to their numbers. What's more, they are considered by friend and foes alike to be the most accurate source of information where firearms are concerned.
If you don't like the NRA, that's up to you. But until there is a better focal point for fighting unrighteous gun control and protecting the 2nd Amendment, I'll continue to support them. I don't agree with everything they say and do either but they beyond any doubt our best bet for keeping our gun rights.

I became a NRA life member in 1985. While the good out weighs the bad, there seems to be some problems regarding the "human" factor with in our organizations leadership. Despite hundreds of millions of dollars being "pumped" into our organization, there still is no "unchallengeable" FEDERAL LAW that prohibits ALL government authorities at ALL levels of government from passing restrictive laws on LEGAL firearm use & ownership. I believe our NRA leadership has fallen prey to an age old problem, $GREED$! With out an "enemy" pounding on our door to confiscate our firearms our NRA leadership would have no reason to go "BEGGING" for "$$$contributions$$$" 24 hours a day. Our NRA organization has thru the years recieved MORE than enough funds to have had the second amendment clairified, substantiated, & protected from any one up to & including our Lord God from tampering with it for political sake. I have come to realize that our NRA leadership needs the"Handun Control" organization as bad as the leadership of the"Handgun Control" organization needs the NRA. Just like the repubies need the demos to keep the $$$$$$$$ coming in, so does the pro/anti 2nd amendment groups need each other.

I believe in the American rights to bear arms and I have pondered joining the NRA, but it is a right wing organisation and therefore cannot be trusted to protect American citizens. Let me just add that the constitution gives us the right to have arms but just because we do, it does not mean that somehow the government will be held at bay against invading your homes as some very idiotic nuts like to exclaim. We have guns, the government has F-22s and nuclear submarines, not much we can do about that.

sure I help the 2nd exchange and that i'm a liberal to boot. I do very own a gun myself and help a individual's actual to very own them to preserve themselves. even nevertheless I could desire to assert i do no longer consider the NRA as I see no explanation why an usual citizen desires to have an M-sixteen attack rifle or why human beings could desire to hold around armor-piercing automatics. yet shop like a shotgun or a handheld pistol around for risk-free practices...sure, I consider that. to boot eliminating weapons is not any answer. Criminals don't get weapons legally and additionally they are in a position to in trouble-free terms discover different weapons to kill those with.

To me, the NRA is to gun ownership as PETA is to animal rights -- they are *so* extreme, at times, that the moderate person who might hold the basic belief that private gun ownership should be allowed (or that animal cruelty should be discouraged) are made to look like extremists through mere association with them. And yet they're also the ones who get the most press.
When the NRA had a gun-rally in Colorado mere days after the Columbine shooting, they lost my respect--I have to remember that not everyone who simply defends their 2nd Amendment rights is as cold-hearted as that. In the same way, although I advocate animal rights, I joined and then quit PETA over ten years ago because of their extremism.
Beware of who represents you.

I am a Democrat and moderatelt liberal as Democrats go...but I am aConstitutionalist before anything. Gun ownership, freedom of speech, right to privacy, and frredom of or from religion are all important issues. I will not support controls designed to separate me from any of these rights...I don't care if you are a Democrat, Republican or what

It seems you like guns but not bush, which is wierd because he lifted the ban so that you civilians can own a collapsable stock without it being a preband. Anyway you'll believe what you want reguardless of what I say, so ill leave the NRA question to be answered by the anti-bush idiots cuz you guys all blindly believe whatever eachother say
