while digging for rocks and gravel do these companies in california find gold?

Most if not all gravel deposits have some amount of gold in it. Gravels are deposits of eroded fragments of rocks that are deposited along depressions on the earth surface. However, the amount of or concentrations of gold that may be recovered from the gravels may not be enough to cover the expenses in recovering it from large amount of materials.

i don't know about california, but they certainly do in colorado. gold recovery was done at the gravel pits near the Coors beer factory in Golden. the gold is very fine so it is easily washed out and separated before hauling the gravel off for construction. i don't remember the grade now, but the value of the gold was worth far more than the ton of gravel it came from.

Only if the gravel originates as an alluvial deposit down stream from a gold bearing reef.

no, they don't look for what they are not contracted to deliver.

most aggregate facilities are interested in the harder granite and stone formations, not real gold producres. look for quartz bearing materials, then ask to go for a look see.
