It was crowded. The only available space was my seat. One person could've sat down next to me. A girl got on, looked at me and remained standing. Why?

There could have been several reasons why she did not sit down next to you:

1. She found your strikingly handsome good looks
intimidating.
2. She's been sitting all day at a desk, and now she
prefers to stretch and stand.
3. She's planning to get off at the next stop.
4. Again, you look good, she feels she doesn't. Would
hope same opportunity exists another time when she
feels she is dressed better, etc.
5. Prefers to keep seat open for pregnant women, the
elderly or disabled.
6. UH OH -- saved this for last -- she just might NOT find
you attractive...

AND IF THAT'S THE CASE, REMEMBER GIRLS ARE LIKE BUSES ---- IF YOU MISS ONE, THERE WILL BE ANOTHER ONE ALONG IN 15 MINUTES !!

Sartre's quotation, "Hell is other people" definitely applies here.

The context behind the quotation is that we are driven to distraction by people's unknown thoughts about and motives towards us. And you take that almost to the level of an art. It'll drive you crazy if you let it.

There are countless reasons why she might have chosen to remain standing. As some people pointed out, maybe she's claustrophobic, she could have O.C.D, or maybe she was being polite and waiting for you to offer her a seat.

And if she didn't want to sit with you because of how you looked or something like that... big deal. It seems every time a girl appears to reject you, you chalk it up to a failed opportunity. Why not think of it as weeding out the undesirables? They're probably shallow girls who's company would bore you by the third date anyway.

Personal space. I never sit next to someone within 1 ft of me unless I have to. She had the option, I would have too - even if you were a stud and a half. Promise.

The drool? Or your erection? Maybe it was that "Ive never sat by a girl look in your eyes" I don't mean to be a hard a s s just covering my bases. She was prolly just a stuck up unsocial beeautch and you are the cool one.

maybe she thought you were good looking and gets nervous around good looking guys and she thought if she sat next to you, you would say something too her and then she would look foolish by not knowing what to say back.

Well check it out, you got to be tough about it, make a friend in her, make her want to sit by you, make her feel safe, and don't show disrespect to her, and you'll be alright.
