It would be better for you to take a course in it. While certified courses cost and have various standards you must meet, many communities have free or low-cost non-certified courses for people who do not need the certification for work or some other reason.

Some places that often offer it include the fire department, local hospitals, the Y, community colleges, your local Red Cross, and so on.

The age breakdown is 0-1 is an infant, 1-12 is a child, 12+ is an adult. The compression ratio and most of the skills are the same between the three groups, but things that are different are:
- breathing rates, breathing volume
- compression depths
- angle of head
- pulse locations
- dealing with conscious choking
- and a few other details.

I'd really recommend a class- there is nothing like good hands-on practice on a manikin under the eye of a good instructor.

it's still the same ratio 30 to 2 i believe 30 compressions to 2 breathes. a child you use one hand to compress the sternum between the nipple line and a baby you use 2 fingers for compressions and check the pulse in the arm the brachial artery.

This is an excellent question; however, I believe you would get more responses if you post it in a different forum instead of Horoscopes.
