Pretty unlikely. Has this happened to you? Are you pregnant, I know in a previous question you were asking about a jiggly belly at 8 1/2 months...

I had an ultrasound at 4 weeks and they did not see a thing so amused that I wasn't pregnant.
Then two weeks later, at 6 weeks they were able to find her. But they found her because they followed the heartbeat, she was still this small little worm looking thing.
Sometimes it is more difficult to find the baby if you are a plus size woman because sometimes you have extra stuffing keeping them from hearing the heart. I had that problem early on, but all is fine now.
In the beginning it is the heartbeat that they use to find the baby. The heart starts beating around six weeks so there is no way to be pregnant and not have them find the baby. Then as you get bigger it becomes easier and easier because the baby's size is bigger.
There is really no way to go though an entire pregnancy and they not find the baby via ultrasound, but you can go several weeks before they find it, but like I said, once you have a heartbeat they have the directional clues they need.

If you asked about a belly at 8 1/2 months and its not somewhat firm, even for a plus size, then did you possibly think you weren't pregnant? My friend had positive pregnancy tests and the doctor said she was pregnant, and after 3 months when the couldnt find a baby or heartbeat, and some other symptoms started happening, they found out she had a molar pregnancy. For more info on that search the web.

Unless the ultrasound tech is totally NOT looking in your reproductive area, then that is just not possible. I've had an ultrasound as early as 5 weeks and you can see the baby, peanut-sized. There's no way that baby would not show up on an ultrasound.

Sometimes the baby will not show on an ultrasound in the early stages of pregnancy (before 6 or 8 weeks).

Maybe in the very early stages...later on there can't be any way that it could happen because the baby takes up the entire womb, unless of course the ultrasound tech doesn't know where to look!

I don't think so....unless your that early that they cant see a sac I know at 5 weeks they may not be able to see the baby but you would have a sac....I know they told me at 5 weeks that i had a sac but they couldn't see it....but if they don't see anything in your uterus then your probably aren't pregnant.....there may be something else wrong get checked out....it is how ever possible to have the baby attach on other areas of your body such as on your intestines or on the out side of your uterus or the out side of your ovary.....but it donesn't happen very often...good luck

it depends on how far along you are. sometimes the baby's too small to clearly see especially since the ultrasound's picture itself isn't clear.

hmm.. Even at 5 or so weeks ( 3 weeks after conception ) the doc was able to see a yolk sac.... Are your pregnancy tests positive? ( I'm assuming you've taken one? )

if its really early and you may have misjudged your date of conceptin then it may be too soon to see a baby. After 7-8 weeks its clear to see.
