How about a story about an antihero who is stuck in a world of predestination. He or she is destined to be the hero, "The Good Guy" and no matter what this person does, it all works out for the best. Regardless of how well it works out however, the individual has to suffer the consequences. If it is against the law, the book gets thrown at him or her, but overcrowding and other legalistic malaprops always conspire to get our frustrated anti-felon back out into the streets. Worse yet, when the consequences are good ones, it is like rubbing salt into the wound of our criminal wannabe!

But if antihero stuck in world of predestination doesn't suit you:

1. Punk Fantasy

2. Do It Yourself Nightmares

3. Lifestyles of the Gods and Goddesses

4. Science Friction - When the Future becomes really irritating!

5. World History from the Loser's Perspective!

6. Cult Romance Novels

7. Apocryphal Folk Tales that no one is ever really meant to understand

A whole new genre?! That's quite a tall order indeed. But I have the twinkling of an idea...

Apparently there are role-playing sites on the net where a person can live a virtual life. Maybe that. Maybe virtual life genre. Think of the possibilities.

The trend today is to blend genre. Sci fi westerns, fantasy mysteries, romantic comedies with supernatural overtones and so forth. Very few books fit one single genre anymore. Mix them up and see what you can come up with. Pax - C
