why would you hate getting a compliment if it is genuine

I am always having people compliment the fact that I am still skinny after having 4 children and I appreciate the compliments however when it is said in front of other women who are struggling with their weight it makes me feel bad, I feel like that is kinda rubbing it in their face even tho I am not the one mentioning it.

I dislike "backhanded" compliments (where it's a double meaning and you take it one way, then when you think about it the person who said it was intentionally being mean).

I take any compliment I can get. I love getting complimented by people...maybe because it doesn't happen as often.

Taunts behind them are not.

Already did, and it only sold to a small audience, so it's not a good compliment.

I HATE it when someone who knows me tells someone who doesn't really know me how smart I am. They even go so far as to spew my IQ score to people and that makes me as mad as a wet hen, lol.

compliments are all good, except when ppl might say oh this is nice..but you should have done this and this and it would have been nicer
