this is a tough question......but i guess the answer that i will give is that it is better to have been unknown. If you are unknown, then you will not know what you are missing, things will go on normally for you, whereas, if you are forgotten it really hurts because you were "there" at one point and discarded. It hurts to be discarded like nothing.
For instance.......if you walked up to a complete stranger and they did nothing to respond to you, it would not hurt because you and he would not know any better. However, if you walked up to someone you once knew like a friend and they did not recognize you or remember any of those memories that you had together; that would truly hurt a thousand more times then if you were to have just past by a stranger.......but yeh....

Unknown, because if you were known and then forgotten, you would feel worse than you would if you were unknown.

unknown b/c forgotten means ur not worth remembering. at least if u r unknown no one had the chance to forget u, to make u meaningless. unknown just means dont know they exist so no feelings toward them.

Forgotten. At least you were known at one point. 15 minutes of fame is better than nothing.

Forgotten, because it's better too be known and forgotten, rather than, never being known for anything. :)
