When I was pregnant, I had high sugar but was never diagnosed with GD. My doc told me when I was 35 weeks that my daughter was 7.5lbs. She was wrong. Emily weighed 6.14. Don't be woried. If you do have a big baby, there is pain meds that can help and if this is your first, don't be foolish-- take the meds. About the measurements, I was the same way. At my 38 week check up I was 40 and then next week I was at 38.

With GD it's very likely that you've just got increased amniotic fluid. It's really nothing to worry about as far as the baby goes, the doctor will just have a bit more to clean up at delivery ;)

Large babies are common in women with GD, it is actually one of the risks involved. My sister gave birth to two 10 pound babies with no problem, and she's only 5 feet tall. I'm sure you two will make it through this alright.

It's more than likely the GD but you could have miscalculated your LMP or they could have miscalculated your due date. Either way, you are close enough that there should be no problems with the baby if born now.

Best wishes, you're about to get the best reward of all!

I was 43 weeks when Mum gave birth to me.

I turned out OK but I did spend a day in the NICU because I was stressed & I spend each night in a billi-bed (under lights for jaundice) due to being overdue.

Have you asked about being induced or having a C-section?

The ultra sound will give you a more acurate idea. Maybe your dates were wrong and you are further along than you thought.
