rosemary smells great and can flower, as does lavender and mint. it depends on what your taste in food is--but basil is easy to grow, and can be used in a lot of dishes from italian to asian.
i have mint that grows wild, so it's hard not to grow those right. it has like small either white or almost light blue fuzzy flowers.

Its tough to grow herbs indoors unless you have a south or west facing sun room with lots of windows. Or use a grow light stand.

The best for flavour are the ones you normally use in the dishes you cook. No point in growing herbs you don't use, best to grow herbs you use all the time.

Prettiest??? most herbs have very small flowers. Some come with varigated leaves but usually the solid green leaves have the best flavour.

Chives basil cilantro. The usual stuff....

Need to be sure they get lots of light.

Try them all. Experimentation is best.
