Note : "english 1985" - Child abuse is not a political issue . You don't ask a traumatized infant or a cocaine addicted baby what political party they are with .

I have witnessed child abuse in public on a few occasions.

The first time, I was working in the judicial system when I saw a young woman pick up her child and throw the child on a hard wooden bench. I immediately got hold of a marshal and had her escorted to a private room. The child was taken to another room and examined. Upon examination, it was noted the child had several bruises all over his body. These were definitely not bruises that could occur from falling down. The mother was arrested for child abuse.

Another time, I had witnessed a mother cursing and shouting at, what looked to be about a 2 year old girl. I promptly got in her face and made sure that everyone around could hear me berate her. Even though others were watching her before I stepped in. The young mother was embarrassed to say the least. She then broke down and cried, saying she didn't know what to do. She was scared because she was going through a rough time trying to raise her little girl on her own and she was afraid she was making all these mistakes. We sat and talked for 2 hours. She had no job (I got her one). To this day, she is a wonderful person and her daughter is beautiful. We have been very close friends ever since.

If I was to witness child abuse I would report it to the local Department of Family of Children Services.

people.. just starred at them. i guess it wasnt a huge deal, since it was just a smack in the head, but naww. people didnt do anything... i probably wouldve done something, but i was a little kid then&& i was scared that id get smacked too... ]:

but if i saw it happening (now), id talk to the abuser&& tell them that its abuse&& they need to stop. if they dont, id call the cops.
