should you give people the whole 3 days to answer?

if you think you've gotten the best answer can you just pick it then?

no one looks at your question after it passes the first page... unless they're your fan and their stalking you, but those are low chances. I usually choose the best answer as fast as possible.

What's the hurry? Of course, if you ask a question like, "What's the name of the song that goes...." and you get the answer you know is right, why not select it and move on? If you ask, "What is the meaning of life?" You probably will want to see a variety of answers. At some point your question gets pretty far down the list and the answers stop coming. That might be a sign to select one and move on.

Yeah sometimes I give 4 hours which is the least amount of time thats allowed. The majority of the time I give about a day or 2 because my contacts usually answer then because they may not have been on when it was posted. =D

I posted a question in the automotive category and waited 6 days because the answers kept coming in. It was worth the wait cause the last answer was the only solution to my problem.

I have found out that in the first 10 min. I have found the best answer. Also people are usually looking at the new questions.
