I don't understand the reasons of the patriot act. Whats the importance of it? I've heard that it's awful, if so then why aren't more people angry about it?

Controlling the american people for the benefit of the government.
Most people are too gullible or idle to protest.
The title was cleverly chosen. How can anyone protest about the patriot act? That would be unpatriotic wouldn't it? It doesn't fit in with flag worship.

No idea, but if it is an American act then it will be to the disadvantage of all foreigners. May be that is why we are all treated as criminals when wanting to, for what ever reason, enter the good old U/S of A.

basically, like much of antiterrorism legislation here in UK, it is an excuse to subvert civil liberties of law abiding citizens in the name of protecting them from terrorism. More people are not angry about it because they are led like sheep and believe it is a good thing
