I didnt like the first answer that you got. It is very disrespectful when everybody else tries to dress well, and weddings are special. Thirty years from now and someone spots the guy with the hoodie in the pictures, great grandchildren will ask " who is this scary looking character in your wedding, great gramps?"

Suits are classics, and so is a tux. People wore them 100 yrs ago and it will most likely still wear them a hundred years from now. Just make sure he looks gorgeous for the pictures. Those last a lifetime.

Black pants, white shirt, tie and a black suit coat...polished dress shoes.

do you have a part in the wedding? then he should kind of wear those colors.
if you dont then a shirt and tie and some nice slacks and dress shoes should do well. you let the when are you 2 getting married bother you either.

Well maybe a more lighter natrual coloured shirt, it's a wedding not a funeral, and a tie would look very classy.
And pants & suit coat, is AOK. :)

its okay if no tie is worn... in that case, just make sure NOT to button up a few of the top buttons! gives it a more casual/elegant look

USE a different color shirt... it WILL look bad, use a light yellow, or a greyish/blue, or bright blue, or bright green! good colors for this time of year!

I don't think he would have to wear a tie. I mean as long as he looks neat for the occasion it should be fine.

I'd go 'as is'... black hoodie, cargo pants... what i always wear. That can look neat and casual. No suits for me. But that's no reason to give it a thumbs down nor say you don't like it...
