Avoid NetGear! Nothing but troubles. They maybe a few bucks cheaper, but it's only worth it if you don't mind staying on the phone with tech support for 2 hours at a time. I trust Linksys, never had any problems.

The choice you made would be fine. I've had the same Linksys 802.11g router for a year now with no problems.

Most of the time you're safe with Linksys -- I used to always recommend them without hesitation but I had a bad experience a year ago. I highly advise researching the model you are thinking of purchasing before buying -- it can save you headaches :)

A "g" router would probably be fine: "n" routers are theoretically better, but the transfer rate of your internet will not exceed 200 Mbps, unless you are connected on some kind of super fast network using fiber optics cables.
The linksys router would be great if you ask me.

I use a D-Link DI-624. Very easy to set up and never had any problems with it.
