Some people just become completely different when they are drunk which makes me wonder...

What do you think?

Is this who they REALLY are? I mean, if drinking makes you "let go", then by not caring about what others think of you and how you should act, you're just being yourself.

So in that sense, couldn't a person LEARN more about themselves and others by observing who they are when they're drunk?

Or would you say that drinking takes you FARTHER away from the "real" you by manipulating your thoughts, increasing sex drive, ect?

It takes me a lot farther away. The real me is shy, reclusive, and anti-social. Even though for a time, I've been working to be a more social person, there are still plenty of things I wouldn't do. However, when I get drunk, I transform into a completely different person! My sex drive increases tenfold, and I flirt with any female I see. I want to get some action, in spite of my current situation, and I try and pick up girls. I nearly got socked in the eye for trying to cop a feel off someone, something I've NEVER done before! People tell me that I go from Steve Urkel to Stephan, and back again when I sober up. It's why I rarely drink. Sure, I change into someone I want to be more like, but I don't want the dependency of alcohol to be that person. I want to be that person all the time, sober and drunk, so I must learn to be like him and get my confidence up. Getting drunk temporarily bypasses the entire thing.

Neither. I've always kept control of everything but my slurs. I am always aware of my surroundings when drunk. Its why no one has ever done anything goofy like put make up on me.

Its also why I never get any at parties, cause my honor wont go away around the drunk chics.

well, there are some cases where licor takes away from what you are, you can even turn into a total moron, but sometimes people who do know how to drink can take advantage of it, i for example drink when i feel too shy in a meeting, but i just drink once, then all the nervousness goes away and i feel better, it only happens when i don´t know anyone, but when i see those people again i do not need to drink anymore to be social, hope you understood me,

I think it takes you farther away from yourself...you wouldn't normaly do what you do when you are drunk...did you ever have a one night stand sober, did a husband/ wife ever cheat while they were sober ( in most cases). I think it takes you farther away from your moral character than anything and it numbs you to all pain you may be dealing with

This question doesn't come from a child, it shows you're very mature. Drinking releases ones inobbisions, to where they gain "whiskey muscles" and to where they think of themselves as "Rudolph Valentino"- Don't worry, when they wake up in the morning, they'll be back to their "Same old selves"!

I think it makes me closer to the "real" me. That's sad that it takes some of getting toasted to be able to be us.
