devide the hour into minutes, there are 60 minutes in an hour.

so every '1' is made up out of 60 equal parts, making one minute equal, 0.01666. multiply this by the number of minutes .e.g. 1 hour and 25 minutes (85)

and youll get hte decimal version in between:
1.41667 is 1 hour and 27 minutes.

Just divide the number of minutes by 60 to get the decimal part of the number.

3 hours 15 minures = 3 + 15/60 = 3.25 hour
3 hours 25 minutes = 3 + 25/60 = 3.4167 hours

An hour have 60 minutes. It is possible to divide the hour in 5 minutes periods or 1/12 hour (60/5 = 12) .
25 minutes are 5 periods of 5 minutes. Do they? yes, 25/5 = 5.
So, 25 minutes are 5*1/12 = 5/12 hour.
An hour and 25 min are one and 5/12 hours.
I guess =S

Oh er!

Firstly you made a mistake. one and a quarter hours - 1.25hours.

It's quite easy.
You're writing in decimal places.

So, it's like 1.25hours = 1 1/4 hours.
In a hour, there's 60minutes.

so 1/4 * 60 = 15 minutes.

So it's, 1hour and 15minutes.

So take for example, 1hr and 25minutes.

Work backwards.

25/60 = 5/6 = 0.83(recurring.

So therefore it would be 1.83(recurring).

Basically just working backwards.

Hope this helps!

25/60 of an hour! Do the division to get the decimal equivalent of it.
