The United States could NOT be successfully invaded because we have oceans covering our east and west flanks and bottlenecks blocking the north and south entrances (lower central american region and bering strait). No foreign Navy is strong enough to make it past our own Navy. In the impossible case this happened, the Air Force would wipe out any remnants of foreign navy before they could make it to land.
Transporting troops across Canada to come down from the north would also be highly unlikely. Canada is either mountainous (forcing foreign forces to bottleneck themselves in mountain passes), or open plains (an easy target for even the Canadian Air Force).
Coming from the south, the foreign military would have their hands full just keeping the Mexicans from looting their stuff. Hell, even if we never sent any military to the south, they'd never make it past gun-lovin Texas.

It depends on if we still have our 2nd amendment rights. They would be foolish to do so. Thats why the Swiss were never invaded in WW2, in my humble opinion. But just for fun, it would probably be Russia they are the only ones who could possibly organize an effort like that.

War with Iran would not bring about WWIII. China and Russia would protest but not intervene. They would be as happy as anyone to see the Iran menace put down. Rogue states do not help anybody. In fact if it comes to that, Israel would probably do the job.

I do not believe that the American People will support another war, ( I hope) with out a :
1) Actual rock solid proof
2) A plan and a leaders who know what the hell they are doing
Hopefully after the mess this Administration have made and the bs they put the U.S. and the Iraqies through we will not fight for a long while

Some one has to confront the radical Islamic ideology of hatred and domination. I seriously doubt that most nations don't realize this - they are just too frightened by the terrorists' tactics of indiscriminately slaughtering innocent civilians to actually step up to the plate and confront them. Examples include most countries, especially France and Spain.
I am proud that the United States is trying its best to eliminate this cancer from the world instead of just passively watching it fester and grow.

all our potential enemies have to do is protect themselves from us militarily and boycott American markets while calling in their loans to us. The repercussions for them would be a world wide economic disaster. But, these are authoritarian regimes that could take in on the chin. Their people would suffer miserably, but the governments and their militaries would be fine..The US would be in the same condition and would probably be the first to use unconventional options

Well, invasion is out of the questions for most non-American countries... Cuba has more chance of invading the US, than any of those... Actually Mexico has begun invading the US...
