I don't think it actually means anything. It's a mix of a heart and a pentagram. The pentagram has come to be known as a symbol for satanic worship, and perhaps it has, but its negative, the pentacle, was once a sign to represent female divinity. And of course a heart has many meanings in today's society. And seeing as how H.I.M seems to be a mix of love songs and hard rock, i think they just saw how well the symbols mixed and used them.

A heartagram means a few things. People confuse it with satanism and the pro skater Bam Margera. What it stands for is really love/hate and life/death which is the style of lyrics Ville Valo and H.I.M uses in their music.
