Depending on where you live and what ISP's are in your area - there should be several plans to choose from. Of course, the cheapest will be the slowest.
Many ISP's will supply you with a wireless modem/router combination that will allow you to set it up quickly.
Check with your phone company/cable provider.
The best deals are found online.

are you asking just to make your home wireless if so then make sure your house was a wireless adapter mosst laptops already have one installed then if your using dsl or cable internet in your home then you can go to a computer store like Best Buy or Comp USA or even Wal-Mart and buy a wireless router to attach to your modem install the software on your computer and presto your wireless I use linksys wrt54gs cost about $ 65.00 dollars works fine has a range about 150 feet

You can try the library. Certain restaurants and fast food places have free wifi.
I used to go to Whataburger. A lot of them have free Wifi!
